OPERATIONS TEAM

Abby Iverson - #2004

Operations Director

Previously working as a hight school teacher in Charlottesville, VA, Abby and her Hsband Mark moved to Asheville in 2017. They have three spunky children, Rosemary, Eleanor, and Silas. Abby has a bachelors degree in Mathematics and a Masters in Teaching. In her free time she enjoys adventuring on rivers, lakes and trails with her family!

Kelly Kidd - #2010

Human Resources Director & Fund Development

Kelly has a long history of serving in outdoor ministry and in the church as the wife of a pastor. She is a vital part of Thrive as she supports, encourages and trains staff in support raising. As our HR Director she comes alongside employees to help them succeed as they serve in their unique roles.
She seeks to partner with the church and local ministries to serve women of all ages. Kelly is eager to walk alongside women as they dive deeper into grace and truth while leaning into vulnerable areas of their lives.

What outdoor adventures do you enjoy? Hiking and relaxing in nature. 
 

What’s the most inspiring part of what you do with Thrive? I love getting to know our staff, praying for others, and pointing all who God brings in my path to Christ.

 

If you could explore anywhere in the world next week, where would you go? The Grand Canyon is on my bucket list.

Keith Jewett - #1008

Administrative Manager

Keith keeps the books and manages payroll for Thrive. He is thankful for his work, and the impact it has on Thrive. Keith enjoys hiking, rock climbing, and doing anything with his wife, Cameron.

Shawna Ketter - #1007

Marketing Manager

The Ketter family moved to Maine from the Kansas City area in 2023. They have five kids – the newest one is an official Mainer. They enjoy living in the pine tree state and serving with the team in Maine. They have many years experience serving their community and church by helping them strengthen relationships while sharing the grace and truth of Jesus – often in the outdoors. God has used their own time adventuring in the wild as a family to renew their relationship with Him and each other – while eating a lot of s’mores. They are passionate about discipleship, and encouraging families to experience life-giving adventures while pointing them to their greatest adventure with God.

What outdoor adventures do you enjoy?  All of them, but if I had to choose – canoeing, backpacking, hiking, kayaking and camping! 

What’s the most inspiring part of what you do with Thrive? I love seeing how God draws people to Himself – restoring and redeeming hearts and lives! 

If you could explore anywhere in the world next week, where would you go? Backpacking in our favorite places in Colorado with my family. Ireland would be really amazing!

NORTH CAROLINA TEAM

Peter Ivey - #2002

North Carolina Director

Originally from Charlotte, NC, Peter and his family have lived in the Asheville area since 2012. He and his wife, Becca, have three young chidlren: Londyn, Owen and Miles. Peter has a bachelors degreee in religion from Furman University, a masters degree in leadership from Denver Seminary, and is a graduate of The Soul Care Institute.

He finds joy in creating space for others to slow down and rest in the love of God, to take notice of the beauty of Creation, and to listen for the still small voice that calls us the beloved. He enjoys reading and writing poetry, trail running, and eating white cheddar cheese a block at a time.

Hunter Poole - #2009

Field Staff

Hunter, his wife, Kaylie, their daughter, Emory, and son, Roan. joined Thrive NC from Mississippi where Hunter served for 5 years as a student pastor. Hunter and Kaylie met while serving at an outdoor Christian camp in teh Asheville area, and joining Thrive feels like a homecoming for them. He has a passion for the outdoors and seeing people come alive through connection with their creator and their community.

MAINE TEAM

Dan & Heather Litchfield - #1001

President // Leadership Development Director

Dan, Heather & their four kids live beside Acadia National Park. They have been serving in full time Christian ministry since 1997. They are passionate about their faith, their family and the outdoors. Thrive brings all three of these passions together as they focus on developing godly families one adventure at a time.

What outdoor adventures do you enjoy?  A day on the water is always a win. Canoeing, rafting, kayaking or SUP.

What’s the most inspiring part of what you do with Thrive? I love seeing people grow spiritually and relationally. When people leave closer to God and each other it all seems worth it.

If you could explore anywhere in the world next week, where would you go? Idaho, it is one of only two states I have not been to. I would do some hiking and rafting while I was there. I also would like to get to the Alps.

What outdoor adventures do you enjoy?  Water sports and hiking. 

What’s the most inspiring part of what you do with Thrive? I love seeing people take their next step of faith in God- those aha moments, convictions, confession, sudden recognition of the greatness and grace of God. This makes ministry worth it! 

If you could explore anywhere in the world next week, where would you go? I would go to Israel followed by Scotland. The first, for the history and spiritual heritage, and the second for the wilderness and beauty of creation.

Joe and Angie bring years of ministry and outdoor experience to Thrive. They led an outdoor ministry at the University of Maine prior to joining Thrive.

Jessica Loose - #1011

Field Staff

Jessica was born and raised in New Hampshire and grew up with many opportunities to explore the great outdoors across northern New England. She credits these experiences and many other outdoor experiences across the US abd Europe for setting her up to receive the Gospel during her college years. She and her husband fell in love with ministry while serving on staff at a church plant in Thousand Oaks, California. They and their daughter Margot recently moved to Maine after they felt the Lord called Jason to a job at Mirus Academy in Ellsworth. Spring of 2024 they welcomed their second daughter, Simone, into their family. For Jessica, working with Thrive is an answered prayer for an opportunity to serve the Kingdom and share the Gospel in Maine.

NEW MEXICO TEAM

Adam & Tracy Simpson - #3006

New Mexico Directors

Adam and Tracy came to know Jesus through Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) while they were students at New Mexico State University. The love and grace of God transformed them and compelled them to join the Lord in His work to reach fellow students with the good news of Jesus. After graduating, they joined the staff of Cru and worked with college students all over the world for 18 years.

They are passionate about Jesus, His gospel, and helping people live in His truth. Another passion of theirs is the outdoors – God’s incredible creation – where the Lord has taught them many things about who He is and who we are to Him. They love combining these passions to help others know and experience Jesus! Currently, they are directing the New Mexico Thrive ministry that is reaching out to the local community with the good news of Jesus as well as providing local and International outdoor adventures as ministry trips for surrounding churches.

What outdoor adventures do you enjoy? Adam – whitewater rafting, canyoneering; Tracy – rock climbing.

What is the most inspiring part of what you do for Thrive? Helping people know and walk with Jesus for a lifetime.
 
If you could explore anywhere in the world next, where would you go? Adam would raft the Grand Canyon in Arizona; Tracy would love to see Italy/Sicily.
