We will spend two days camping on the shores of Donnell Pond.

Men have been marking and navigating important life transitions by embarking on solo journeys into the wilderness since ancient times.  Jesus often retreated to the wilderness to spend time alone with the Father.   These practices, rooted in various cultures and spiritual beliefs, have served as powerful rites of passage, allowing individuals to connect deeply with themselves and the natural world, and the Lord.

As women, it can be easy to feel alone in the hustle of life: work, family, relationships, church, and then pain from the trials of life. This camping adventure is designed to help you unplug, breathe deep, and remember how to celebrate. We will ferry over to Cranberry Island and camp near the ocean and experience shared meals, campfires, laughter, fun, and joy that comes from simply being alive—together.

Guided by Nehemiah 8:10 — “The joy of the Lord is your strength,” this adventure invites you to rediscover joy not as something earned, but as a gift to receive. Through island camping, short hikes, rock/seaglass hunting, stories around the fire, and unhurried time outdoors, we create space to rest, play, and give thanks.

There are moments for reflection and gratitude, but the heart of this adventure is celebration—of God’s goodness, of community, and of the life we’ve been given. Gather friends and come ready to laugh, explore, eat well, sleep under the stars, leave lighter than you arrived and be quipped to find joy in your everyday life.

100 mile wilderness with training hikes

DADS & TEENS 16+

PURPOSE: CONNECTION WITH YOUR TEENS, ENDURANCE & SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Step into the wild, unplug from the everyday, and embark on an epic journey together. Hike the 100-mile wilderness designed for dads and their older teens to build endurance, resilience, and connection—both to each other and to God.

This expedition is more than miles on the trail; it’s about navigating challenges together, encouraging one another when the climb feels steep, and celebrating victories along the way. Through shared responsibility, teamwork, and intentional reflection moments, fathers model perseverance, and teens experience firsthand the value of trust, patience, and courage.

Spiritual formation is woven throughout the adventure. Guided Scripture readings, prayer prompts, and reflective pauses in the solitude of the wilderness help fathers and teens recognize God’s presence, see strength in one another, and understand how perseverance shapes character and faith.

By the end of the journey, fathers and teens will have not only completed 100 miles but strengthened their relationship, gained confidence in themselves, and created memories—and life lessons—that will carry far beyond the trail.

We will spend the summer hiking together in preparation for this August or September journey.

In the beauty of shared space and unhurried time, we’ll worship, pray, laugh, eat, and learn side by side. This retreat is designed to strengthen relationships across generations, reminding us that faith is not meant to be lived alone, but passed on, modeled, and nurtured within community.

Through Scripture-centered teaching, meaningful conversations, shared adventures, and simple moments of joy, we’ll explore what it means to leave a legacy of faith—one rooted in Christ, shaped in family, and lived out in everyday life. Children will see faith modeled by those ahead of them, adults will be encouraged by the voices of both younger and older generations, and families will be equipped to keep Christ at the center of their homes.

This adventure invites moms and their sons to explore lakes, rivers, or streams together through paddleboarding, kayaking, or canoeing—while enjoying the timeless joy of fishing. As you cast your lines and navigate the currents, you’ll be reminded of Jesus’ words: “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” — Matthew 4:19

Just as we patiently wait for the fish to bite, we also learn to follow Jesus with perseverance, encouragement to one another, and celebrate the gifts God provides. Along the way, guided reflections and activities will help moms and sons notice God’s beauty in creation, His provision, and the joy of spending time together.

Whether paddling across gentle waters, casting a line, or sharing stories on the shore, moms and sons will grow in connection, confidence, and faith—leaving with laughter, lasting memories, and hearts inspired to follow Him more closely.
