This is an adventure designed for fathers and their children to climb, explore, and grow together—literally and figuratively. We will hike in and have opportunity to climb several outdoor routes. This adventure invites dads to step out of the normal routine, encourage their chid(ren), and persevere through challenges side by side.
The goal is to climb together, encourage each other, and leave with renewed confidence, deeper connection, and memories that last. Get a group together for a fun day adventure!
FATHER & SON FISHING TRIP ON THE PENOBSCOT
FATHER & SON
PURPOSE: PASSING ALONG THE BIBILCAL PRINCIPALS OF MANHOOD
Join your son(s) & get a group together for a powerful day on the water – a 9-mile canoe journey down Maine’s iconic Penobscot River, renowned for its exceptional smallmouth bass fishery.
We’ll spend the day mostly drifting with the current, fishing along the way and enjoying unrushed time together. A riverside lunch will be provided, creating space for intentional conversation in the middle of a beautiful setting.
This adventure is about more than casting lines. We’ll focus on biblical manhood—what it means to lead with strength and humility—and how to intentionally pass those principles on to our sons. Throughout the day, guided questions will spark meaningful dialogue, culminating in a final debrief to reflect on what was learned and how to live it out.

BACKPACK CUTLER COAST
DADS & TEENS
PURPOSE: STRENGTHEN FATHER & TEEN RELATIONSHIP, SHARED CHALLENGE, INTENTIONAL TIME, & MEANINGFUL CONVERSATION.
There’s a voice many dads carry quietly:“Am I connecting with my teen?”
“Do they really understand my example?” or any number of other doubts.
We believe those doubts lose their power when fathers step into truth—together with their teens.
This two-day backcountry adventure is an invitation to step away from the noise and routines of daily life and enter a place where challenge clarifies, and relationship strengthens. As we hike the rugged beauty of the Cutler Coast Public Reserved Land, the wilderness becomes more than scenery—it becomes a space to grow closer to God and to your teen.
Through shared miles, honest conversations, and intentional moments of mentorship, dads and teens will practice the tools that build lasting character, faith, and connection. We’ll learn to replace distance with presence, distraction with intentionality, and uncertainty with courage and faith.

FAMILY ISLAND CAMPING PILGRIMAGE

PURPOSE: STEP AWAY FROM DAILY DISTRACTIONS, SEE GOD’S FAITHFULNESS AS A FAMILY & STRENGTHEN YOUR TRUST IN HIM
As families we are on a pilgrimage together and the path can lead to mountain top moments and valleys. Thrive invites you to gather several other families to step out of the normal routine of life and into creation, where the rocky trails, winding paths, and quiet campsites become reminders that God writes your families story, paves your path, and walks with you always.
This guided camping adventure will be on Swan Island on Kennebec River, the head of Merrymeeting Bay. An unforgettable place to explore, fish, watch for birds, hike and camp . We will canoe or kayak over, enjoy the peaceful island, share meals by the fire, and moments of reflection and activities to help you:

LEGACY RAFT TRIP

Is your family ready to step into adventure and faith together? Do you need a reset? Do you long for connection, growth, and a deeper, authentic walk with God?
The Legacy Rafting Trip invites kids 12 and up and their parent(s) to experience both excitement and formation. Together, you’ll navigate Class I–IV rapids on the stunning Kennebec River while learning practical ways to grow spiritually as a family, pass faith intentionally to the next generation, and make Christ the center of your journey.
This is more than a day on the river—it’s a shared experience that strengthens relationships, encourages spiritual growth, and creates lasting family memories.

MOM & SON WATER ADVENTURE
MOM & SON(S)
PURPOSE: GROW IN FAITH, CONNECTION, ENCOURAGEMENT & DISCIPLESHIP
Step onto the water for a day of adventure, bonding, and faith! This adventure invites moms and their sons to explore lakes, rivers, or streams together through paddleboarding, kayaking, or canoeing—while enjoying the timeless joy of fishing. Location and actual boating depends on time of the year.
As you cast your lines and navigate the currents, you’ll be reminded of Jesus’ words: “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” — Matthew 4:19
Just as we patiently wait for the fish to bite, we also learn to follow Jesus with perseverance, encouragement to one another, and celebrate the gifts God provides. Along the way, guided reflections and activities will help moms and sons notice God’s beauty in creation, His provision, and the joy of spending time together.
Whether paddling across gentle waters, casting a line, or sharing stories on the shore, moms and sons will grow in connection, confidence, and faith—leaving with laughter, lasting memories, and hearts inspired to follow Him more closely.

This is more than recreation. It’s an opportunity to grow in relationship with each other and with God. Through simple activities, shared challenges, and reflective moments, you’ll explore discipleship in action—learning to listen, encourage, and walk alongside one another growing in your faith.

If you have been daydreaming about a family adventure but don’t know where to start, this trip is for you! As an outdoor ministry, we have all the know-how and gear to make your family camping trip a reality, with ideas for activities, games, devotionals, and discussions to deepen your walk with the Lord and give you tools to pass your faith on to your children.
Invite other families to build a community of faith and fellowship together! We can gear the activities towards your group – canoeing, paddle boarding, hiking, or whitewater rafting.
LEGACY RETREAT

PURPOSE: CONNECTION WITH FAMILY & BUILDING A LEGACY
The Legacy Retreat is an intentional gathering for the whole church family—children, parents, grandparents, singles, and every generation in between—to slow down, connect deeply, and grow closer to Christ together.
In the beauty of shared space and unhurried time, we’ll worship, pray, laugh, eat, and learn side by side. This retreat is designed to strengthen relationships across generations, reminding us that faith is not meant to be lived alone, but passed on, modeled, and nurtured within community.
Through Scripture-centered teaching, meaningful conversations, shared adventures, and simple moments of joy, we’ll explore what it means to leave a legacy of faith—one rooted in Christ, shaped in family, and lived out in everyday life. Children will see faith modeled by those ahead of them, adults will be encouraged by the voices of both younger and older generations, and families will be equipped to keep Christ at the center of their homes.
PADDLE BOARD ADVENTURE

Grab your family and invite other families to join you for a day adventure on the water! “Into the Current” is a family paddle board adventure where fun, connection, and growth happen together. Balance is tested, teamwork is strengthened, and you learn to listen and respond to God’s leading as a family.
