LEADERSHIP
You have been given a place of influence in your family. What you do matters.
On our day-trip and overnight adventures we focus on servant leadership as modeled by Jesus. We can have the head knowledge of what leadership is, but often we don’t have the heart knowledge. In other words, we are better at knowing what the Bible says about leadership than we are at doing what the Bible says about leadership. Get away from the busyness of life, learn with others and apply the word in context through adventure.
Our men or women leadership adventures are specifically created for you to experience God and develop what it looks like to lead in wisdom while having a vision and plan for the future.
Live the life your family was CREATED for.

What people are saying.

“I walked away completing one of the greatest adventures I’ve ever had – all with God’s help. It helped me realize that I haven’t been asking for God’s help in my day to day life. I now desire to pursue Christ above all things and find contentment not in earthly circumstances, but in the Lord.’
“It was restorative and just what I needed to encourage me. I have committed to putting on the armor of God everyday – it’s the only way I will be able to lead effectively. Thank you, Thrive, for this time away to learn so I can better lead.”
FAQ

We understand that you might have some questions about our experiences. We have gathered a list of frequently asked questions just for you. WHAT EXPERIENCE OR PHYSICAL FITNESS IS REQUIRED?
Although experience is not a limiting factor, physical fitness may be. Most of our adventures are planned with all abilities in mind, but some (like the Katahdin Winter Ascent) are very physically demanding and require endurance training. Our outdoor activities will be designated by one of three physical fitness levels.
“Easy” refers to a low level of physical exertion, suitable for most people with minimal fitness, able to move over uneven terrain.
“Intermediate” which is suitable for those in good physical condition. Everyone on these trips should be able to hike for about 4 hours at a moderate pace with breaks and have good balance. Plan to work up a sweat.
“Challenging” represents a high level of exertion where breathing becomes labored and talking is challenging. Being in good physical condition is necessary as well as a strong desire for adventure and the courage to withstand challenging weather.
Most all of our activities need no prior experience necessary and we will help you along the way to learn the skills necessary for the adventure.
WHAT AGE GROUP DO YOU WORK WITH?
Our experiences are geared towards your growth in Christ no matter your age. We are a family ministry and work with all age groups. However, some of our trips are more appropriate for certain ages due to the outdoor activities offered. For example, white water rafting is for adults and youth 12 years old and up. If that is the case, we will specify age ranges on the adventure or retreat summary.
are there any family friendly trips for younger children?
Yes! We offer family canoeing trips that work for most age children.
Please reach out if you have questions about age requirements for our parenting and discipleship adventures that are offered for the whole family.

does the marriage retreat help? will the parenting adventures make a difference?
We have found that when two people show up and avail themsleves to what God will teach them – He changes hearts and lives.
The same goes with our parenting adventures and any adventure or retreat we offer. God is the one who encourages us, convicts us, challenges us and we all get to see Him work through experiences that give us an opportunity to grow to be more like Him.
Do you offer high adventure experiences?
Yes, we love adventure at Thrive. Our adventures and retreats are experiential in nature with a purposeful reason for why we do them. We offer a spetrum of adventure levels.
The purposeful high adventure activities that we might engage in include rock climbing, white water rafting, rapelling, canoeing the allagash, hiking Mt Katahdin, and more.
